Humanist weddings on the up!

People are becoming increasingly aware of Humanist ceremonies and couples can choose to celebrate their love and commitment in a way that is personal and meaningful to them.

Humanist weddings are becoming very popular in Scotland. In 2005, when Humanist weddings were first legally recognised, only about 100 ceremonies took place. In 2011, according to statistics from the General Register Office of Scotland, celebrants from the Humanist Society Scotland performed 2,486 marriages, compared with 2,092 the previous year – an increase of 19%. And the trend is set to continue.
